In the year 1963, 20 Regimental Schools were converted to the Kendriya Vidyalayas under the aegis of
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghthan. The basic purpose of formation of Kendriya Vidyalayas was to cater to the needs of
children of defence personel who are often posted in the remote corners of the country. Our Kendriya Vidyalaya
BEG Pune was one amongst the first 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas established in 1963.

The Alumni Association was formed on 21 Sept. 1986 at K V BEG, Pune. This Alumni Association is one of the
oldest amongst all the Alumni of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
Alumni Association celebrated the Silver Jubilee (1963-1988) of K V BEG in 1988 at the school campus, under the
motto "Universal Brotherhood". A Souvenir was also released on the occasion. Sh. Prataprao Pawar, MD Sakal News
Paper, Pune was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Again, in the year 2013, the association celebrated the Golden Jubilee (1963-2013) of K V BEG at the School
Campus, which was attended by large number of ex students and retired Dy. Commissioner, Education Officers,
Principals and teachers. A Compact Disk (CD) of the event was prepared and distributed to all the alumni members.
The association take immense pride in the fact that it acts as a utility to the School. The children who are unable to
pay their fees is taken care by the Alumni. The Alumni also undertaken lots of activities and is readily available to the
school for any help, whenever required.
Now, Kendriya Vidyalaya BEG, Khadki, Pune, and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghthan, New Delhi has completed 60
years of formation, we have invited all the Past Students from 60 batches since 1963, who have passed out from the
school. Also all the retired teachers, Principals, Education Officers and Asst. Commissioners who have associated with
the Vidyalaya will also grace the occasion.
Smt. Sona Seth, Dy. Commissioner, KVS Mumbai Region has graciously consented to be the Chief Guest of the
function and Brig DG Patwardhan, Commandant, BEG & Centre & Chairman KV BEG, Lt Gen Sanjeev Kanal, PVSM,
AVSM (Retd) and Smt. Aruna Bhalla, former Dy. Commissioner, KVS Mumbai Region will be the Guests of Honour for
this grand function.
